Everyday care

Put jewellery on last, after fragrance, cosmetics and hairspray, and take it off first. The alcohol in scent dulls a polished surface faster than anything else it will meet.

Take pieces off before swimming, bathing or exercise. Chlorine attacks the alloys in gold, and salt water is worse.

Store each piece separately. Diamond scratches everything, including other diamonds, and a soft pouch prevents most of the damage a jewellery box causes.

By material

Gold and platinum: warm water, a drop of unscented soap, a soft brush. Dry thoroughly.

Silver: tarnishes in air — that is the metal behaving normally, not a fault. A silver cloth restores it. Keep it in a closed pouch between wears.

Pearls and opals: never immerse. Wipe with a barely damp cloth. Both are porous and both are ruined by ultrasonic cleaners.

What we will do

Bring any piece back to us for cleaning and polishing at no cost, for as long as you own it. We also resize rings, restring pearls, replace clasps and re-rhodium white gold.
